Camping In and Near Bahia Asuncion
If you want to camp free, it is best to stop at the police station and ask them where it is OK to camp or park your RV There is one for fee campground at the beginning of town with a toliet, one shower, some hook-ups and a separate for fee dump station.
However, if you prefer, and have the appropriate vehicle, there are some great isolated beachs that are close to our village. They are beautiful and free. As the access is on soft sandy roads, 4wd vehicles are recommended. You may be visited by our very friendly vigilancia who patrol our coast 24/7 insuring that there are no lobster or abalone poachers. And if you love the desert, you can camp anywhere. Please be respectful of the Vizcaino Biosphere and take only photos, and leave only footprints.

Punta Choros, Baja California Sur
A few miles south of town on the road to Abreojos, there is a sign attached to an old tire that points to the dirt road that takes you to the local favorite surfing beach, Punta Choros. Careful as the road can be very soft. Not recommended for most RVs. There are great isolated campsites among the pristine dunes. If the surf is up, some of the local surfers may show up and invite you to surf with them. They are a great group and love sharing the surf with visitors. And further down the road to Abreojos, there are many, many isolated beaches with easy access where the exploring and camping are great.

San Roque, Baja California Sur
One of the favorite free camping areas for people with the appropriate vehicle is near and at the semi-abandoned village of San Roque. The old village is located approximately 12 kilometers north of Bahia Asuncion on the good dirt road that begins on the east side of our Delegacion. If you are not sure which road it is, ask anyone. There are lots of places to camp and explore by this pacific bay.
